NEVER FORGET

7 years ago today I was on the phone desparately trying
to get in touch with family & friends to see if they were alright.
Take a moment with your loved ones today
and tell them how much you LOVE THEM!
And tonight at the dinner table before you sit down to eat,
say a little prayer for those who can never again share a meal with their loved ones.
NEVER FORGET...

Gina! After the kids went to bed we watched a documentary filmed by people who were there that day. It is still over whelming the devastation that occurred. I am glad I was not there and did not know people directly there. You heart must ache for your friends and family and their loss. It has changed our country. Thanks for the reminder. amy

This was the first year I felt like people were forgetting... I got out our TShirts and told the kids what the day was about but as I went to school I just felt like people are starting to forget.

The nice thing that happened is that in speaking with Anna she said Mommy one good thing happened, and I said what do you mean. She said Mommy they all got to go to their great reward together. And as awful as the even was at least she is right they all got to go together escorted by the love of the firemen of NY!

I look back and think me & Anna were suppose to be in NY Sept 18th so Anna could have met my Nana and I am so luck we didn't get tickets any sooner. Thankfully it was only Southwest but if we had left any sooner we would have been stuck in NY without Conder - I can't even go there to think what if I left sooner...

The one thing I will never forget is calling to see if people were ok - believe it or not I was able to get through and when I got to talk to someone I would leave messages on everyone elses answering machines telling them who was safe. It was heartwrenching when I got an answering maching I just didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

Thankfully my family was safe alot of them police men in the city. Unfortunatley the town I use to live in Manhasset was hit hard alot of the Dads worked in the City and there were many losses.

All I can say is that we can really never forget becasue as soon as we let our guard down we are a nation at the mercy of others on any given day.

The anxiety of this day is extremely tangable. The only way I got over the sheer fear was that I must pray ever day for our country and all our brothers & sisters.
